20 x 16 Framed with suede mat and loomed beads by the artist.
At Artist Ride, there was a young man named Jack Sides, who was playing a role of a Bugler in the US Cavalry. There was a storm coming and the clouds were leaving the day overcast. He posed by one of the tents with an old flag pole and flag. The setting was beautiful and he was posing, when I asked if he could actually play something so I could see a more realistic view of his hands and face playing the horn. He began to play “Taps” with so much emotion that I couldn’t see him through the camera lens as my tears were blurring my vision. I just kept clicking and hoping that my fingers were getting what my eyes couldn’t see but my heart could hear. In my painting, I made the eagle image in the clouds of a New Mexico sunset.
Taps:
Day is done,
Gone the sun,
From the hills, From the plains, From the sky,
All is well, Safely Rest God is Nigh.
